Isabelle Herouard, Paris Opera Ballet, was so delighted by my painting of her teaching flamenco dance, she invited me to paint her again when she taught at Ballet Chicago.
Esther in a deep red tulle tutu, pink ballet slippers, and pink tights posing with her self portrait, in front of a mirror, and her reflection in my casement window of my Wrigleyville studio in Chicago.
I am a painter, and recovering world traveler.
While living in New York, I painted and worked at the Art Students League of New York as a painting monitor. After a month studying at the League I became a monitor to the painters Leatrice Rose, the abstract expressionist Joseph Stefanelli, and Cornelia Foss.
I also attended Louise Bourgeois' historic artist's salon in Chelsea New York. The salon met at Louise Bourgeois' home in Chelsea, which was within walking distance of where I lived.
I did an artists residency at the International School of Art in Umbria, Italy, which according to SAIC was one of the top centers for contemporary painting outside of the U.S.
Prior to this I attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). At the Art Institute of Chicago I studied painting and sculpture, and film and computer animation. My emphasis was on Painting/Drawing. I also worked with the Roudnev Ballet of Chicago as a painter and photographer in residence.
My paintings and drawings are in private collections in the US and France.
